Jun 16, 2022 · Volunteers have been a vital part of Brazos Bend State Park since its opening in 1984. The volunteers organized in 1989, by electing officers and accepting by-laws. We operate as an independent, nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization. The Brazos Bend volunteers have contribute 16,330 volunteer hours to Texas Parks and Wildlife in 2018.

Brazos Bend State Park is on the Brazos River near Farm Road 762 in Fort Bend County seven miles west of Rosharon. The 4,897-acre park was originally part of the Abner Harris and William Barrett land grants and for many years served as a ranch and hunting preserve.
