Any Army MOS is going to have periods where they do their job, periods where they do big Army stuff, and periods where they do nothing, so keep that in mind. 17C is stellar at this - you have more time that you're doing your job, and the downtime is a lot more tolerable. The phase system delineates your freedom more or less. The higher phase you have earned the more freedom you are entitled to. At the highest phase you can go workout unmonitored.The army giving you that education and then a fairly low-stress guaranteed job to really hone it is very valuable. If you go 17c you'll almost certainly end up at a place you can make good connections and network with people to get a gov contract or slide into a DOD civ spot or something similar.
